Today and tomorrow, cheese replicas of art by famous painters such as&nbsp;<span class=\"xn-person\">Jean-Baptiste-Simeon Chardin and&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"xn-person\">Raphaelle Peale<\/span>&nbsp;will be displayed at Vanderbilt Hall at New York City&#8217;s Grand Central Station in an&nbsp;event called &#8220;Eat the Art.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The two-day cheese gallery is hosted by the folks at Castello cheese, who believe that cheesemaking is a finely tuned craft, like art. They are paying homage to that idea by showcasing edible art from celebrated&nbsp;artists, beginning with artists from the late 19th century. Food artists Jim Victor and Marie Pelton will be on-site during the two-day event, hand sculpting edible structures from Castello&#8217;s&nbsp;Alps Selection Hirten cheese.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are honored to be a part of this unparalleled gallery experience,&#8221; said Victor <a href=\"http:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/eat-the-art-with-castello-cheese-at-grand-central-terminal-264703471.html\" target=\"_blank\">in the press release.<\/a> &#8220;Connoisseurs of fine food and art alike will delight in the aesthetic of the realism and post-impressionism art and the delectable taste of Castello creatively crafted cheese.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Guests are encouraged to see, smell, and taste the cheese displayed at Vanderbilt Hall&#8211;they&#8217;re even allowed to sample the cheese directly from the artwork.
