Mark your calendars and pack your bags, because there is a brand new cheese festival in town! Well, in the town of Milwaukee, that is. Cheese blogger Jeanne Carpenter<\/a> recently announced the creation of a new, one-day festival called CheeseTopia<\/a>, to be held on April 12, 2015 at the Pritzlaff Building in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward district.<\/p>\n

Carpenter, who has organized similar events for the annual Wisconsin Cheese Originals and the Wisconsin Artisan Cheesemaker Guild, said in her official announcement<\/a> that the goal of CheeseTopia will be to “bring the best of Midwest artisan and farmstead cheese to the heart of the city.” Featuring over 50 cheesemakers from the Great Lakes Region, CheeseTopia will have the look and feel of a farmer’s market for artisan cheeses, while also offering guests the opportunity to attend informational seminars. Tickets will go on sale after the first of the new year and will be $25.<\/p>\n

Can’t make it to Milwaukee for 2015’s CheeseTopia? You’re in luck because Carpenter already has plans in the works for the next two festivals! CheeseTopia 2016 will be in Chicago, and 2017 will be in Minneapolis. If traveling to the Midwest isn’t an easy option for some cheese lovers, then worry not. There are plenty of fantastic festival alternatives taking place all across the country! From Vermont’s Wine & Harvest Festival in September<\/a>, to Oregon’s Cheese Festival in March<\/a>, cheese celebrations are happening year round, from sea to shining sea. And remember to brush up on your oh-so-essential tasting tips<\/a> before heading to your next cheese event; your palate and stomach will thank you.<\/p>\n
