Most people are familiar with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=uprjmoSMJ-o\" target=\"_blank\">The Spanish Inquisition<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=iV2ViNJFZC8\" target=\"_blank\">The Ministry of Silly Walks<\/a>, but shockingly many people have not heard of our favorite sketch: The Cheese Shop.<\/p>\n<p>Watch what happens when a desperate&nbsp;customer looking for \u201ca little fermented curd,\u201d walks into a cheese shop that seems to be severely understocked.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/PPN3KTtrnZM\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>John Cleese plays the customer in the sketch, and as it turns out, his <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biography.com\/people\/john-cleese-9250570#synopsis\" target=\"_blank\">original surname<\/a> was actually Cheese! Reportedly, his father changed it before enrolling in the military, as he felt it was \u201ctoo embarrassing\u201d Fun fact: The term \u201cYankees\u201d comes from the Dutch nickname \u201cJan Kees\u201d which translates into \u201cJohn Cheese.\u201d Looks like this Brit, is actually a Yank!<\/p>\n<p>The sketch has sparked many inside jokes within the cheese world&nbsp;including&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.venissimo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Venissimo Cheese<\/a> listing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.venissimo.com\/venezuelan-beaver-cheese-2216\/\" target=\"_blank\">Venezuelan Beaver Cheese<\/a>&nbsp;on their website. Some cheese recipes have also been developed based on the idea,&nbsp;despite the fact that there are no beavers in Venezuela.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It was Graham Chapman and John Cleese wrote the sketch, but Cleese did not think the sketch was funny enough at first. Chapman insisted that it was. They decided to test the sketch on the other Monty Python members and like Cleese, most of them didn\u2019t find it amusing.
