This fun and free event is hosted by <a href=\"http:\/\/americanmeltdown.org\/about\/\" target=\"_blank\">the American Meltdown Gourmet Melts food truck<\/a>, and is intended to be a celebration of North Carolina&#8217;s delicious cheese culture. The Much Ado about Cheese Festival will not only be the premiere place to grab some grilled cheese grub on the go, but the festival will also&nbsp;highlight cheeses from these participating North Carolina creameries and shops:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.goatladydairy.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Goat Lady Dairy<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.piemontefarm.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Piemonte Farm<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/prodigalfarm.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Prodigal Farm<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/chapelhillcreamery.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Chapel Hill Creamery<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sixforkscheese.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Six Forks Cheese Shop<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.guglhupf.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Guglhupf Bakery<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.onceuponameadow.com\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Once Upon a Meadow Farm<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/paradoxfarmcreamery.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Paradox Farm Creamery<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/durham.coop\/\" target=\"_blank\">Durham Cooperative Market<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It might come as a surprise to those who live outside of the Tar Heel State, but North Carolina is the lead cheesemaking state in the South. With over fifty artisan cheesemakers who have set up shop&nbsp;statewide, it is a fantastic destination&nbsp;for cheese-loving travelers to visit. Tools such as the <a href=\"http:\/\/nccheesetrail.com\/map.html\" target=\"_blank\">North Carolina Cheese Trail Map<\/a> give visitors the inside slice on where they can find some of the South&#8217;s best cheeses. <a href=\"https:\/\/developer83.wordpress-developer.us\/culturecheesemag\/travel\/triple-play-triangle\" target=\"_blank\">In addition&nbsp;to North Carolina&#8217;s dedicated love affair with pimento cheese<\/a>, visitors can expect to find cheeses that taste distinctively of the landscape, particularly when touring the state&#8217;s mountain cheesemakers.
