We can probably all agree that mac and cheese is one of the greatest foods on this earth and in this universe, but can we agree on what kind<\/em> of mac and cheese beats out all the rest? Earlier this week, Huffington Post<\/a> conducted a survey of one thousand participants to decipher just that, and the results are in.<\/p>\n

When it comes to the cheese, cheddar<\/a> took home the gold with 43% of votes. A blend option was a close second with 37%; 7% of participants like powder, 7% weren\u2019t sure, and 4% said \u201cother.\u201d Poor Gruy\u00e8re<\/a> came in last with 1% of votes. Don’t worry, Gruy\u00e8re, we still love you.<\/p>\n

Almost half the participants would choose plain mac and cheese over one with added toppings. Of those who like a little something extra, however, bacon was the top choose with 29% of votes. Another 19% voted for garlic, 18% were veggie fans, 8% praised lobster, and 2% chose beer.<\/p>\n

As far as store-bought mac and cheese goes, 65% say the box is the way to go, with 11% favoring a frozen option. The rest of voters either don\u2019t buy mac and cheese at a store or don\u2019t have a preference. The homemakers were much more divided, with 48% opting for baked and 40% all about the stove top mac and cheese. The rest of the voters either couldn\u2019t choose or don\u2019t make their own mac.<\/p>\n

The answers I found most shocking was that, when asked how often you eat mac and cheese, most people said a few times a year. Only a few times a year<\/em>? How do they resist the gooey, cheesy, goodness for that long? Clearly they are lying.<\/p>\n
