A few recipes we found, such as <a href=\"http:\/\/gourmetbaking.blogspot.com\/2009\/02\/cheese-thousand-layer-cake-lapis-legit.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this one<\/a>,&nbsp;use cream cheese in the batter (as well as 16 egg yolks and nearly a pound of butter).
