Hope everyone is settling into this lazy last Sunday of January, with nothing to do but snack and watch the Grammy&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s what you may have missed this week in cheese:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Vermont-native Rory Stamp, of Dedalus Wine Shop&nbsp;in Burlington, Vermont, won the Cheesemonger Invitational, a semi-annual competition. Why, you ask? See his&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/developer83.wordpress-developer.us\/culturecheesemag\/cheese-bites\/rory-stamp-dedalus-wine-wins-cheesemonger-invitational\" rel=\"noopener\">pink peppercorn macarons<\/a> with Mt Tam buttercream.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>For over 50 years, the village of Stilton in Cambridgeshire has hosted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atlasobscura.com\/articles\/stilton-cheese-rolling-competition-cancelled\" rel=\"noopener\">an annual cheese-rolling competition<\/a>. This year, they&#8217;re canceling it because the kids don&#8217;t think it&#8217;s cool anymore.&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>People are falling out of love with Salt Bae after he <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodandwine.com\/news\/salt-bae-american-cheese\" rel=\"noopener\">covered a steak with American cheese<\/a>. There&#8217;s a time and a place for processed cheese, but it ain&#8217;t there, buddy.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bon Appetit wrote an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bonappetit.com\/story\/butterkase-cheese\" rel=\"noopener\">ode to butterk\u00e4se<\/a>, and we also can&#8217;t get over their crazy cheesy roundup of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bonappetit.com\/recipes\/slideshow\/cheesy-super-bowl-recipes?mbid=nl_nl20180123pm_recipeoftheday&amp;CNDID=51930011&amp;spMailingID=18598477&amp;spUserID=MTkwMzgyMDA2OTQxS0&amp;spJobID=1143944407&amp;spReportId=MTE0Mzk0NDQwNwS2\" rel=\"noopener\">Superbowl&nbsp;snack recipes<\/a>.&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Russia banned the importation of foreign cheese back in 2014,&nbsp;right after they annexed Crimea. Out of these flames rose a Phoenix\u2014m<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">eet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/video\/index\/550703\/war-and-cheese\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Russia\u2019s Guardian Angel of Cheese<\/a>.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Adam Moskowitz,&nbsp;the founder of the <a href=\"https:\/\/developer83.wordpress-developer.us\/culturecheesemag\/article\/mark-curd-nerds-cheesemongers-olympics-coming\" rel=\"noopener\">Cheesemonger Invitational<\/a>&nbsp;known as the \u201cPrince of Cheese,\u201d&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tastingtable.com\/cook\/national\/cheese-fondue-recipe-tips\" rel=\"noopener\">schooled us on fondue<\/a>.
