Rachel Freund and her partner Cole Van Seters set out last May for a coast-to-coast road trip, visiting national parks and exploring along the way. <a href=\"https:\/\/developer83.wordpress-developer.us\/culturecheesemag\/article\/best-cheeses-vermont\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cabot Creamery<\/a> happened to be looking for &#8220;cheese ambassadors,&#8221; so the couple spent seven months giving cheddar tastings at food shows and grocery stores. In addition, they committed &#8220;Random Acts of Cheddar,&#8221; gifting 1,500 pounds of cheese to volunteers around the country. If that isn&#8217;t the best job since slicing bread, we don&#8217;t know what is.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Here&#8217;s what else you might have missed this week in cheese news:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>University of Maine researchers unveiled that consumption of yogurt and other dairy&nbsp;is associated with <a href=\"https:\/\/medicalxpress.com\/news\/2019-01-yogurt-dairy-foods-cardiometabolic-health.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">healthier dietary habits and cardiometabolic health.<\/a> No idea what &#8220;cardiometabolic&#8221; means, but we&#8217;ll take any excuse to eat more cheese.&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Chili cheese dip looks pretty disgusting, so it&#8217;s best to save it for a Game Day treat or for people who already know your culinary skills. But hey, it sounds pretty delicous and it&#8217;s only <a href=\"https:\/\/thetakeout.com\/recipe-3-ingredient-chili-cheese-dip-cream-cheese-1831559737\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">three ingredients.<\/a>&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>The beloved Californian dairy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfchronicle.com\/food\/article\/Cowgirl-Creamery-releases-first-new-cheese-since-13550395.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cowgirl Creamery recently released Hop Along<\/a>, its first new cheese since 2011. This semi-firm cheese is washed in cider from France&#8217;s Brittany region.
