As a <a href=\"https:\/\/developer83.wordpress-developer.us\/culturecheesemag\/article\/the-definitive-guide-to-vegetarian-cheese\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">vegetarian<\/a><\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">turophile<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, cheese plays a major role in my diet<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">as a source of calories, protein, and minerals. Without a doubt, cheese can&nbsp;<\/span>be part of <span data-contrast=\"auto\">healthy eating<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">but&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">it should be in<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;balance with other nutrients&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">that<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">it lacks, namely fiber. This is one reason for its undeserved reputation for causing<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, shall we say,&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">a <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">slowing<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;of the digestion process. Cheese is so satisfying in flavor and calories<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">that you might not feel hungry enough for a plate of leafy greens. This is a great reason to put a lot of cheese on your salad<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Seriously, though, thanks to recent research finally validating the healthy role of dairy fats, cheese is back on the good-guy list for those in<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">know. <a href=\"https:\/\/developer83.wordpress-developer.us\/culturecheesemag\/ask-the-monger\/cheeses-lower-calories-fat-others\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Milk fat<\/a>, especially from animals fed a natural diet (grass for cows and sheep<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;and browse for goats) is quite high in omega<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&#8211;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">3 fatty acids and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA).&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">T<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">he average American diet is far too low in omega<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&#8211;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">3s compared to omega<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&#8211;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">6s (found in the most commonly<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">consumed oils)<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, and r<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">esearch has shown that organic milk&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">from<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;cows&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">that&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">spend a certain amount of time on pasture contains 62<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;percent<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;more&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">omega<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&#8211;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">3 fatty acids than conventional milk.&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Further,&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">CLAs are linked to reduced&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">risk of&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">cancer, heart disease<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;and diabetes<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, plus a<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;higher body<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">muscle<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&#8211;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">to<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&#8211;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">fat&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ratio. Cheese&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">made&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">from such milk<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u2014<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">especially aged cheese<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">s, in which<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;fat is concentrated<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u2014<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">are<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;an even better source.&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">If you<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u2019<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">re trying to improve your health through diet, however,&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">don\u2019t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;just add more cheese to your plate.&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Create a balanced approach<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">: M<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ake yourself a nice batch of <a href=\"https:\/\/developer83.wordpress-developer.us\/culturecheesemag\/ask-the-monger\/cheeses-best-making-fondue\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fondue<\/a> with aged, whole<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&#8211;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">milk cheese<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;and then scoop it out with nutrient<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&#8211;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">dense carrot sticks, broccoli florets, jicama wedges, and maybe a couple of whole grain crackers<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.
