Days were spent in the shop and nights involved churning ice cream. While Scream eventually closed, Jeni used&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">her<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">experience to develop the business plan for Jeni\u2019s Splendid Ice Cream<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u2014<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">and the rest is history.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Available in one of 3<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">7<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">&nbsp;scoop shops or&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">3,000<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">-plus&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">grocery stores across the country, Jeni\u2019s&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">pints have<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">changed the ice cream game. Her commitment to responsibly sourced ingredients coupled with innovative flavors makes each scoop a treat. She always made fresh strawberry freezer jam. We would serve it&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">over<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">vanilla ice cream.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">On flavor development&nbsp;<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Flavors that seem simple are not as easy as you may think. Sometimes you\u2019ll imagine this whole flavor story in your mind that you think will be beautiful in ice cream form and it\u2019s just not. And sometimes, the opposite happens. The look of an ice cream should immediately make you imagine it\u2019s flavor, so it being visually beautiful is important.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">On combining cheese and ice cream<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The key is finding cheeses that mix well with the flavor story we are trying to tell and offer something unique to the texture and body of the ice cream.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Goat cheese works because of what is already is\u2014its [creamy] texture and tangy flavor lend itself well to ice cream.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">On adding e<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">ssential oils&nbsp;<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">to&nbsp;<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">ice cream&nbsp;<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Perfumers use fats or alcohols to carry scent, so I started adding&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">essential&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">oils to my everyday cooking. Then I moved to adding these oils to ice cream,&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">and&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">I loved the way it enhanced the tasting experience by attaching scents to the fats<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">.&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Culture catches up with Jeni
