Cantaloupe is a type of muskmelon with webbed outer skin, which turns from green to beige as it ripens. While cantaloupes are best in late-summer, they are usually available year-round in supermarkets. When picking a melon, smell it\u2014it should have a sweet, floral, earthy fragrance (hence why it\u2019s called a \u201cmusk\u201d melon). The following preparations and pairings are guaranteed to impress your friends.<\/p>\n<h3>Prosciutto-Wrapped Cantaloupe<\/h3>\n<p>OK, so we couldn\u2019t leave out prosciutto entirely\u2014it\u2019s just too tasty!
